The ASUS TUF A16 FA608UP is basically a gaming laptop for someone who wants ASUS Gaming experience but with paying for Asus ROG series.
The combination of these specs alone make it a powerhouse. With an AMD Ryzen 9 270, RTX 5070 8GB, 32GB DDR5 RAM and a 1TB NVMe SSD on paper, yes this thing is pretty much capable for most heavy tasks . You can use it for gaming, but also for stuff like video editing, 3D work, rendering and other heavy applications.
How good is the ASUS TUF A16 FA608UP for gaming?
The biggest reason to look at this laptop is without a doubt the graphics card – RTX 5070 8GB. Combining it with the most power AMD processor – Ryzen 9 270 and 32GB RAM and you’ve got a setup that can compete with modern AAA games pretty comfortably.
The 16-inch 1920 × 1200 165Hz display is also a pretty good match for the hardware. Although it doesn’t have the OLED display Acer Helios 16s has, the display is decent enough. The lower res value makes the GPU have fewer pixels to power, ultimately giving higher frame rate.
The 16:10 screen can also slightly improve your visuals. You get a little more vertical space than a normal 16:9 gaming laptop, which is useful when you’re doing normal work too.
How good is ASUS TUF A16 FA608UP Battery Life?
Multiple outlets have comment very differently about this.
According to Wanuxi’s testing, the TUF Gaming F16 managed around two hours of continuous YouTube playback without being plugged in, while a full charge reportedly took around 45 minutes.
Other testing from HelloExpress was less positive about battery life. Their testing found that even with the discrete GPU disabled, getting beyond eight hours was difficult, and performance could drop by as much as 30% when the laptop was unplugged.
